in the studio

These posts have become really infrequent because I've been working on a project I can't share yet. Possibly next week.

detail, seenUNseen project

Out of the studio, a lot is happening. This week I updated works at Paul Henry's. There are now nine collages there which have never been shown before. I delivered heartland work on Wednesday which was installed for a Dyer Arts Visionaries show. The Friday reception was very successful and I sold two pieces. The heartland show will be up for about 2 months. I entered two juried shows, and I stopped the opening of the Giant Monsters Show at Paul Henry's to support a bunch of local artists.

And something big is in the works. But that's a secret for now, too. Next week's in the studio should be less vague.

Throwback Thursday

This week's throwback, below the surface, is one of twenty three heartland paintings installed this week at Benedict's for the Dyer Arts Visionaries. Show opens this Friday 7-9 pm.

Throwback Thursday

The spirea is blooming.

This week's throwback is spirea, and if you were following along a few years ago, this was the painting that went on and on and on. Everyday the spirea outside my studio looked a little different, and everyday this piece evolved. I finally just had to stop, because it would have never been finished.

in the studio

In the studio this week (last week, actually: this is a Mother's Day delayed post.) One finished piece and one work in progress. Still need to title these.

Out of the studio, Friday at HAC, Corey Hagelberg's In the Garden woodcuts opened. Saturday was the ATC trade at Nido Bianco. (There will be a separate post about that.) I ventured up to Michigan with fellow artist Leslie Lambert, and was back in time for BJAM's Armonia at White Ripple.

Up next: getting ready for heartland to go to Dyer at the end of the month for the Dyer Arts Visionaries. Reception 5.29, save the date now!

in the studio

This week: I finally finished something. These are 8" x 8". The green ones are done. The red is close.

Out of the studio this week: openings at the Towle Theater for Landscape's Language and a group show LOOK15 at Merge. And I took no photos at either one. Next week: I have a very full week of teaching but I'm hoping to clean out the studio, or at least the desk so I can get started on the Prufrock pieces. I'm planning ten series of ten. Saturday is the ATC trade at Nido Bianco, which should be lots of fun. I will remember photos there.
